Insurance Corporation of Belize Selects Agilis Ubiquity and Agilis Sentinel for Its Next Generation of Insurance Operations

Insurance Corporation of Belize (ICB), one of Belize’s leading general insurers, has selected Agilis Ubiquity, Agile Financial Technologies’ AI-native insurance operating platform, and Agilis Sentinel, its executive intelligence platform, to transform its insurance operations. The move will introduce intelligent automation across underwriting, claims, reinsurance, and finance, alongside natural-language product creation to accelerate product launches and AI-powered executive intelligence to support better decisions. With its first go-live scheduled for Q1 2027, the initiative marks a significant step towards faster, more connected, and customer-centric insurance operations.

BELIZE CITY, Belize — 12th October, 2026 — Insurance Corporation of Belize Ltd. (ICB) has signed with Agile Financial Technologies (Agile FT) to move from Agilis Core Insurance Suite to Agilis Ubiquity, Agile FT’s AI-native insurance operating platform, and to deploy Agilis Sentinel, its executive intelligence platform.

ICB has operated on Agilis Core Insurance Suite for more than three years. The decision marks the next chapter in the relationship between the two companies and a move beyond a conventional core-system upgrade towards a fundamentally different model for insurance operations.

Agilis Ubiquity is built around the premise that technology should increasingly carry the complexity of insurance, allowing people to focus on customers, risk, judgement and decisions. Rather than organising work around modules, screens and transactions, the platform starts with the outcome a user is trying to accomplish and brings together the information, insurance rules, intelligence, automation and controls needed to complete the journey.

For ICB, the transition will bring journeys such as quotations, renewals, endorsements and claims into one connected operating environment. Underwriting and pricing, policy servicing, claims, reinsurance, finance and IFRS processes, risk accumulation, AML/KYC compliance and regulatory processes will progressively operate within the same environment.

Agilis Ubiquity’s natural-language product builder will also allow authorised ICB teams to define and configure insurance products conversationally, helping reduce the time and complexity involved in bringing new products and product changes to market. Together, these capabilities are intended to enable faster decisions, greater operational consistency and a more seamless experience for customers across ICB’s branches, agencies and digital channels.

Dufy Nunez Jr., Chief Executive Officer of Insurance Corporation of Belize Ltd., said: “We did not want simply to replace our core system with a newer version of the same operating model. We wanted to use this opportunity to rethink how technology could help our people work, make decisions and serve our customers and partners better.

“Agilis Ubiquity builds on the foundation and experience we already have with Agile FT, while giving us the opportunity to embrace AI, automation and better intelligence within the controls and governance that a regulated insurer requires. The ability to respond more quickly to changing customer and market needs, including bringing new products to market more efficiently, is particularly important to us. We see this as a significant investment and step in the next generation of ICB.”

Where routine work can be automated, Agilis Ubiquity is designed to handle more of it. Where professional judgement is required, the platform brings relevant information and recommendations to underwriters, claims professionals and other decision-makers while preserving authorities, rationale, human oversight and a full audit trail.

Alongside Agilis Ubiquity, ICB will deploy Agilis Sentinel, Agile FT’s executive intelligence platform. Agilis Sentinel is designed to give leadership a continuously evolving view of what requires attention across the insurer, drawing signals from areas such as underwriting, claims, risk accumulation, finance and service performance and turning them into prioritised concerns and actions. Leaders can assign mandates to accountable owners and follow them through to resolution and measurable outcomes.

Kalpesh Desai, President & CEO of Agile FT, said: “ICB’s decision is particularly meaningful to us because they already know Agilis. Having operated on Agilis Core for more than three years, they know our technology, our company and how we approach insurance. Their decision to move forward with Agilis Ubiquity is therefore a significant validation of the direction we have taken.

“When we created Agilis Ubiquity, we deliberately did not set out simply to rewrite Agilis Core Insurance on newer technology. We challenged the assumptions on which traditional insurance systems, including our own, had been built.

“Insurance professionals should not have to spend their working lives navigating software. Increasingly, the software should understand what they are trying to accomplish and bring the information, intelligence, controls and insurance complexity together around them.

“That philosophy extends beyond individual insurance transactions. An insurer should be able to describe a product it wants to bring to market and have the platform help translate that intent into the products, covers, rules and workflows required to operate it. It should be able to identify emerging risks and operational concerns and bring them to management’s attention. And it should learn from the decisions and outcomes generated across the business.

“We are delighted that ICB has chosen to take this next step with us. It continues an established relationship, but also represents something new: the opportunity to rethink how an insurer operates when AI, automation, insurance intelligence and human judgement are designed to work together from the outset.”

As part of the evaluation leading to the decision, Agile FT successfully demonstrated the migration of ICB’s existing datasets, product mappings, and processes from Agilis Core into Agilis Ubiquity, showing how ICB can move to the new platform while carrying forward the information and operational foundations of its existing business.

The implementation is scheduled to go live in Q1 2027.
